National Reconciliation Week 2017

Each year, National Reconciliation Week celebrates achievements in our journey towards reconciliation, with hundreds of events held nationwide.
Held annually from 27 May to 3 June NRW is bookended by important milestones: the 1967 referendum and the Mabo decision, respectively.
In 2017, these milestones mark significant anniversaries: 50 years since the 1967 referendum, and 25 years since the Mabo decision.
This week reminds us that big changes take persistence and courage.

A Prayer for Reconciliation

Lord God, bring us together as one,
Reconciled with you and with each other.
You made us in your likeness.
You gave us your Son, Jesus Christ.
He has given us forgiveness from sin.
Lord God, bring us together as one,
Different in culture, but given new life in Jesus Christ:
Together as your body, your church, your people.
Lord God, bring us together as one,
Reconciled, healed, forgiven,
Sharing you with others as you have called us to do.
In Jesus Christ, let us be together as one.
Prayer by Bishop Arthur Malcolm   APBA
