PLACES TO EAT IN NORTH SYDNEY

To ensure your stay is safe and smooth, we maintain a 24-hour concierge service and security surveillance across the site. While our site is open to the public during the day between the hours of 7 am – 5 pm, it is only accessible via security key access outside of those hours.

You will find a map of all emergency exits on the back of the entry door in your room. Please familiarise yourself with this information.

Smoke alarms cannot distinguish between steam and smoke. When fire alarms are activated, the Fire Department is automatically contacted and a $1,750 call-out fee is charged.

If a fire alarm is activated in your room and it is deemed to be due to non-compliance with our fire procedure (as outlined in our Terms and Conditions), you may be asked to contribute to the Fire Department charge.

All detectors respond to heat, smoke and vapours. To help prevent false alarms, please note the following:

  • Bathroom-related triggers:
    • Steam from hot showers
    • Hairspray
    • Air freshener
    • Water and condensation

Note: when using the bathroom, please keep the door closed.

  • Room triggers:
    • Cigarettes or vaping
    • Cooking vapours
    • Burning toast
    • Incorrect kettle use
      – please use the kettle in the designated area only.

Fire extinguishers, signage, and emergency lighting are located on all levels. Exit routes are clearly marked.

If you see a fire or hear a fire alarm, please exit the building immediately. Do NOT attempt to retrieve your luggage or belongings. Go directly to the nearest EXIT sign and promptly leave the building – ensuring that you use the stairs only – DO NOT use the lift during an emergency.

After evacuating the building, assemble on the grassed area opposite the main entrance near the Anderledy Reception Desk.

Please remain at the assembly area until informed by either the Fire Brigade or a member of the Mary MacKillop Place staff that it is safe to return to the building.

Please note that all fire doors are alarmed 24/7 and will activate if they are used. Only use them in the case of an emergency.
