For three decades, Mary MacKillop Place has welcomed thousands seeking peace and inspiration in North Sydney. This anniversary exhibition revisits some of the milestones, memories, and moments that have shaped our story, from welcoming pilgrims worldwide to celebrating the legacy of the Sisters of Saint Joseph.
Inspired by the Jubilee Year and Pope Francis’ “pilgrimage of hope,” we’re reminded that hope is something we live and share. This exhibition also highlights the ongoing work of Mary MacKillop Today, where stories of hope and transformation in Timor-Leste and Australia show that hope is very much alive today.
Included in your ticket price is access to a Hope Walk Pilgrimage resource that has been designed to take you through Mary MacKillop Place with a reflection on the theme of ‘Hope’. These are available for collection with your ticket.
Join us on this journey. Walk through the past and be inspired for what’s to come.

The place is calm, peaceful and so serene, amid the business and bustle of a big city. We had our AoS Conference here and the place was amazing. I love the Chapel. The room was perfect, spacious, clean and quiet. Food was beautiful. The people were all friendly and helpful. I’d like to go back and would definitely recommend to my family and friends.

The location in North Sydney is excellent. It feels as if you're in the quiet suburbs, and not in a major part of a capital city.
The room cleanliness was outstanding … rooms are spacious, climate controlled, blackout curtains and a fridge. Great staff
… good location to head out from each day

So relaxing such a perfect place to go to connect to God and pray. Mary Mackillop tomb is on display which you can walk and sit by or pray or admire. Highly recommend. Plus, I know a few people who have prayed there and have become pregnant. Next door has a lovely cafe and souvenir place. They make delicious soups [at the] cafe.

Peaceful, warm and welcoming atmosphere. Staff and volunteers are genuinely helpful. Beautiful church building and museum in memory of an extraordinary woman who did so much for so many around Australia and New Zealand. A lovely, relaxed little cafe next door compliments this refreshing little pocket in busy North Sydney.

One of the best undiscovered places in Sydney - the museum is excellently designed - you really do feel like you are walking the emotional roller coaster with this great Australia Woman. Most of her story of suffering is largely unknown and this museum does a great job. Starts from her childhood, ending in the actual room which she spent her last days and her place of burial (in the chapel). This place always makes me proud to be Australian.

This location was fantastic. The locked gate with card entry to parking gave extra security. The room was huge as were the hallways. Air-conditioning was centrally available but could be altered if needed. Breakfast was included in the tariff, large spacious dining room and attentive staff.

A lovely chapel. The St Mary Mackillop Chapel is a small yet quiet and peaceful place to pray.
The chapel is very well maintained. There are beautiful glass paintings and wooden stations of the cross. The chapel provide guidance book for the stations if anyone is interested to do so.
I recommend this for pilgrimage. St Mary Mackillop is the first saint from Australia and her body is buried inside the chapel.

Lovely quiet cafe to visit. Menu is limited as there is no kitchen on site. Coffee is top class. Staff and atmosphere is very welcoming.
