At Mary MacKillop Place, we share the inspiring story and enduring legacy of Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop with all who come through our doors. This vital mission would not be possible without the passion and dedication of our extraordinary Volunteers.

Volunteer opportunities

Our Volunteers are united by a heartfelt commitment to promoting the life, work, and spirituality of Mary MacKillop. They embody her spirit of compassion and service, and their contributions enrich the experience of every guest.

We welcome and cherish each individual who generously gives their time. Their diverse skills and knowledge make our community stronger and more vibrant.

Opportunities to make a difference include the following:

  • Museum guiding for student and adult groups.
  • Museum reception to greet and assist our guests.
  • Gift Shop & Café customer service to provide a warm and inviting atmosphere.
  • Behind the Scenes eg. support with general adminstration, research, data entry, and cataloguing.
  • Caring for our grounds e.g. gardening and general maintenance.

Training and support is provide to all volunteers.
