Mary MacKillop Feast Day Celebrations 2023 Photographs

What a great day our celebration of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop on Tuesday 8th August 2023. Pilgrims, who came in great numbers, were not deterred by the early rain. commencing at 7.00am.

Pilgrims were able to attend Mass at 8am, 10am and 1pm, and throughout the day spend time praying in the Chapel or at Mary’s Tomb. For those of us ministering and volunteering at the Feast Day celebrations the faith of the pilgrims is inspirational.

As well as visits to the Chapel and Tomb pilgrims were invited to spend time in our lovely gardens, the  enjoy delicious food supplied in Anderledy Lodge and the Café and purchase various items from the Gift Shop. A tour of the Museum was a must to view items belonging to Mary MacKillop and to learn more of her life and legacy.

By mid-morning the sun came out, warmed the day and hearts of the pilgrims, and added a glorious note to the celebrations. A great day was had by all.

We look forward to our celebrations in 2024 as we continue to ask Mary MacKillop, a woman who is a model and guide for us today as we walk with her heart that saw need wherever she found herself and responding to I generously. All the while trusting in her “good God” to provide whatever was needed.

Please enjoy viewing images from this year’s celebrations.
